Supporting young people to take the next step toward employment

Youth Employment Assistance

Youth Employment Assistance, formerly SLES, helps young people aged 15 to 24 prepare for work and life after school. Through tailored supports and hands-on learning you’ll build confidence, practical skills, and real-world experience. We’ll work with you to identify your strengths, explore your interests, and set meaningful employment goals. Programs include job readiness training, workplace tours, money handling, time management, driver and digital skills, communication, and personal development activities, all designed to support your transition from school to work. With guidance from our team and support from industry partners you’ll gain valuable experience and the confidence to take the next step toward employment.

Youth Employment Assistance helps you to:

  • Build confidence and independence
  • Take practical steps towards meaningful employment
  • Connect with your community and build lasting relationships
  • Develop self-belief and direction for the future
