Youth Employment Assistance -

Work Launch

(Formerly known as SLES)

Youth Employment Assistance (formerly SLES) — delivered through the Greenacres Kickstart Academy

Greenacres delivers Youth Employment Assistance, the NDIS support formerly known as School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) — through our program called Work Launch, a structured employment pathway program delivered in our Kickstart Academy. Work Launch was designed in-house by Greenacres and is exclusive to the Kickstart Academy you won't find this program delivered anywhere else. Every module, work tour and workplace pathway has been built by our team, drawing on our 70+ years of experience supporting people with disability into employment. Developed for school leavers but available to all ages, this program was co-designed by people with disability, ensuring the program truly reflects the needs, experiences and voices of the people it serves.

Our exclusive 15-module curriculum combines essential learning with practical activities, giving participants the chance to apply and reinforce what they’ve learned in a real, and meaningful way. Additionally we include workplace experience and work tours to prepare participants for real employment opportunities. Every journey is personalised, supporting emerging, developing and independent learners at their own pace to build sustainable life and work skills to take the next step in achieving their career goals.

This program is funded under Youth Employment Assistance part of the NDIS ‘Finding and Keeping a Job’ capacity building category. Speak to your Support Coordinator or Local Area Coordinator about including this in your plan.

Our Learning Framework

This innovative learning framework combines foundational workplace competencies with specialised industry pathways, creating opportunities for participants to develop both broad employability skills and targeted sector-specific capability.

Before commencing module-based learning, each participant completes a Foundational Work Skills Checklist to assess core capabilities across self-management, literacy, numeracy, communication, and adaptive technology needs.

This establishes an individual baseline to tailor learning supports and track progress throughout the program.
