Congratulations to Alison Bathe!

We're so proud to share that Alison, an artist from our Greenacres Outsider Art Program, has had her artwork featured on the cover of Shellharbour City Council's newly adopted Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2026–2030.

Alison was recently pictured at Shellharbour Airport alongside Shellharbour's Mayor, Chris Homer, proudly holding her artwork. Fittingly, the airport is also home to one of our Greenacres Cafés and Catering locations.

Alison's vibrant, ocean-inspired piece, featuring currents, bubbles, foam and turtles, beautifully captures the spirit of inclusion, belonging and connection at the heart of the plan.

Known for her colourful and expressive creations, Alison uses art as a way to share her creativity and connect with others, and it's wonderful to see her talent recognised in such a meaningful way.

Shellharbour City Council's Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2026–2030 sets out a roadmap for improving accessibility and inclusion across the city, shaped by extensive consultation with people with disability, carers, service providers and the wider community. Featuring Alison's artwork on the cover is a fitting way to bring the plan's vision to life, recognising the talents, perspectives and contributions of people with disability in our community.

A huge congratulations to Alison, and thank you to Shellharbour City Council for celebrating the important role artists with disability play in our community.
